5th Grade will be experiencing a variety of genres through the Into Reading curriculum, literature discussions, and creating critical thinkers and habitual, passionate readers.

- Using authors as mentors, we will explore the genres of writing personal narrative, expository, informational, imaginative narrative, and persuasive.

Units will include problem solving, number sense, operations with decimals and fractions, geometry, statistics, deciphering word problems, and learning to explain mathematical thinking.

-We will be exploring scientific concepts and life sciences using inferences, experimental procedures, and data interpretation.

Colonial exploration, roots of the New World, the American Revolution, Constitution, and Young Ameritowne are among the exciting topics we will delve into.
