Meet the Principal
Principal Amanda Thanos
Dear Westridge Community,
I hope this letter finds you filled with excitement for the school year! It is with great enthusiasm and a deep sense of honor that I introduce myself as your Westridge principal.
I lead Westridge Elementary with a firm belief in the importance of valuing our community. A strong and connected community is the cornerstone of our educational journey, and I am committed to fostering an environment where students, families and staff feel welcomed and valued. Together, we can achieve remarkable things.
At Westridge Elementary, we recognize the significance of striking a balance between structure and nurture to support a safe and warm learning environment. It is my priority to create an atmosphere where students not only thrive academically but also grow as compassionate, well-rounded individuals. We believe that providing a secure and nurturing space for our students is paramount to their success.
I am immensely proud of our staff for their dedication and passion in creating a positive impact on student growth. They work tirelessly to ensure that our students receive the best education and support. We believe in the power of creativity in teaching the curriculum, and our teachers are encouraged to use innovative methods to make learning a dynamic and engaging experience.
We understand the importance of using data to make informed decisions. Data-driven strategies help us tailor our approach to meet the unique needs of each student. This commitment to evidence-based decision-making ensures that every student at Westridge Elementary has the opportunity to succeed.
I highly value open communication and believe that a strong partnership between the school and our families is essential. My door is always open, and I encourage you to reach out with any questions, concerns or ideas. We are partners in your student’s education, and your insights are invaluable.
On a personal note, I am a parent too, with two little kids who keep me on my toes and a loving spouse who happens to be a high school principal. Family is at the core of who I am, and I hold a strong belief in the significance of providing a quality education to shape the future of our children. I also cherish spending time with family and engaging in community groups that bring us all together.
I am genuinely grateful for the opportunity to lead this wonderful community at Westridge Elementary. Together, we are driven to be better, to inspire and to achieve greatness. Our shared commitment to the success of our students will undoubtedly make this school year a remarkable one.
Let's make our experience together one of growth, learning and endless possibilities.
Warm regards,
Mrs. Amanda Thanos
Principal at Westridge Elementary School
